October 2023 Events at Killingworth Library

(September 25, 2023) — The following programs and events will take place at Killingworth Library during October 2023. Please register in advance for these programs by visiting the Calendar on the library’s website –  killingworthlibrary.org – or by calling 860-663-2000.

LEGO STEM Club – meets once a month at 5:45 p.m., starting October 3, 2023. Learn to use the STEM steps to success as you solve a problem, plan and create a design, and then test your project. A different project every month! For grades 1 through 4.

60 Years Ago: Connecticut and the Cuban Missile Crisis – Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. Local historian Phil Devlin returns with a fascinating history of our country on the brink of nuclear war, including the stories of those from Connecticut who helped defuse the situation.

Bears in the Backyard – Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. Local naturalist Ed Ricciuti will discuss the blurred lines between humans and wildlife, the changing habits of these animals, and he will offer tips on how to coexist. A book signing will follow the discussion.

Build a Haunted Graham Cracker House – Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Listen to a Halloween story, then create your own “spooktacular” haunted house… out of Graham Crackers! We will decorate our houses with royal icing and various candies. For grades K through 3.

Pajama Storytime – Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. Come dressed to cuddle and bring your favorite stuffed animal! Mrs. Fig will share her favorite Halloween stories. Family members of all ages are welcome

The library will be open on Columbus Day, Monday, October 9, 2023.
