(October 8, 2023) — The Connecticut Department of Transportation has issue the following traffic advisory for road closures of the Haddam/East Haddam Swing Bridge for the week of October 8, 2023:
There is no 63-hour bridge closure this week. There will be complete overnight bridge closures as follows:
- Sunday night (10/8) into Monday morning (10/9) – 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Monday night (10/9) into Tuesday morning (10/10) – 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Tuesday night (10/10) into Wednesday morning (10/11) – 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Wednesday night (10/11) into Thursday morning (10/12) – 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Please also note there has been a change to the bridge opening schedule for boaters. See below for updated opening times:
- Sunday (10/8) at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.
Beginning Monday (10/9) the swing bridge openings will occur as follows:
- Monday through Thursday at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m.
- Friday through Sunday at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m.​
 63-Hour Bridge Closures The contractor has revised the schedule of 63-hour bridge closures for the remainder of 2023. The 63-hour bridge closures will occur as follows:
- October 22, through October 25, 2023
- November 5, through November 8, 2023
- November 12, through November 15, 2023
