Sustainability Committee Hosts Guest Speaker from DEEP, October 26th

(October 17, 2022) — The Haddam Sustainability Committee will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, with featured speaker Sherill Baldwin from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP)

Ms. Baldwin has worked in sustainable materials management for more than 30 years and at DEEP since 2008. Current projects include the Increase Reuse and Recycling Working Group for the Connecticut Coalition for Sustainable Materials Management, the RecycleCT Foundation, the What’s IN, What’s OUT initiative, and the Connecticut Business Recycling assistance program. She facilitated the creation of a universal list of acceptable recyclables for Connecticut in partnership with Materials Recovery Facilities and provides professional development for municipal recycling coordinators. Ms. Baldwin is also a founder of EcoWorks, a creative reuse center for the arts in North Haven. She received an M.S. in Resource Development at Michigan State University and a B.A. in Solid Waste Management from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

The Committee meeting will be held at the Old Town Hall, 21 Field Park Road in Haddam, at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
