(March 7, 2023) — The weather is warming up and you know what that means. Spring is almost here! The Haddam Women’s Club (formerly Haddam Junior Women’s Club) is pleased to share its annual list of spring events.As a friendly reminder, we donate 100% of our proceeds to the Haddam Food Bank, HK Backpack program, and other local civic organizations, as well as provide a scholarship to a graduating senior.This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Haddam, Higganum or Haddam Neck high school senior in loving memory of Amanda Lisitano.
Amanda (photo above) was a lifelong resident of Haddam/Higganum who dedicated much of her life to others. As a devoted preschool teacher in Hartford, a mother of three young children, and an involved member of the Haddam Junior Women’s Club, she was an exceptional example of selflessness. Amanda is greatly missed by her family, friends and community after losing her life to cancer in 2020. This scholarship helps Amanda’s generous spirit live on for years to come.Our spring events include:April 8, 2023 – 8:00 a.m. until we sell out. Easter Bake Sale in front of Jack’s Country Restaurant, 26 Killingworth Road, Higganum.April 22, 2023 – 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Earth Day Vendor & Craft Fair at Haddam Elementary School, 272 Saybrook Road, Higganum.
