RiverQuest has a full Summer calendar with a little something for everyone. You will never look at the river the same again! We will see Ospreys, a full moon, sunsets, listen to music and More! Information about all events and reservations are available at www.ctriverquest.com
Kid’s Cruises – July 27 and August 10 at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
From 10:00am to 11:00am. A special cruise, designed for young children and their parents, grandparents, etc. We will teach children about binoculars, they will learn about the birds we see, nautical terms, the ecology of the river. We will see Gillette Castle and the Chester/Hadlyme Ferry and we will go under the East Haddam Swing Bridge. This will be a fun cruise to introduce children to the fragile beauty of the Connecticut River and the area we live in. And, it allows kids to be kids! All kids ages 2 to 12 ticket price will be only $5, ages 12 and up only $10. Passengers need at least one child to receive this special pricing. This cruise is First Come, First Serve…no on-line booking available.
TGIF Sunset Cruises – Fridays in July and August
Summer is here, and you had to work all week. Grab a friend and your picnic basket, favorite beverage and start your weekend! We will provide a light cheese platter, and mother nature will provide great evening scenery to help you unwind from your busy week. Enjoy a relaxing evening cruise on the lower Connecticut River, departure from Eagle Landing State Park in Haddam. Observe how beautiful the river is at twilight as you dine. There will be only light narration on this cruise. $35/pp
Full Moon Evening Cruise: July 16 & 17 at 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
This will be a relaxing cruise to no where, timed so that, weather permitting (we will still go out if it is cloudy), we will see the full moon rise. Observe how beautiful the river is at twilight; see local wildlife and various points of interest including many beautiful homes. Bring your picnic basket and favorite beverage. Cost is $35 per person. No children under 12.
Osprey Cruise – July 17 at 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & July 20 at 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Cruise quietly on the lower Connecticut River and observe Ospreys and their nests in various areas. This time of year, the Osprey babies will either have just started flying or will be at the edge of the nest just ready to fly! We will get some very close-up views of the Ospreys, great photo op. A naturalist will be on board to educate all on the Osprey and any other bird/wildlife we may see on our journey. Cruise is 3 hours long. $40pp. Due to the length of this cruise, no one under 10 please.
Connecticut River Cruise, Haddam to Middletown – July 24 at 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Join us and cruise north up the Connecticut River to Middletown. Observe how beautiful the river is as we pass by several state parks on the edge of the river: Haddam Meadows, George Dudley Seymour and Hurd to name a few. See where the Connecticut Yankee Nuclear Power Plant was. There should still be some baby Ospreys in their nests and we hope to see an eagle or two near the new Haddam nest. We will turn around below the Arrigioni Bridge. Bring your picnic basket and favorite beverage. Cost is $40 per person. No children under 12.
Parrothead Cruise – August 2 at 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Enjoy the beautiful Connecticut River while listening to “Parrothead” music. Bring your margaritas or any favorite beverage and your picnic basket. If you want your margarita on the rocks, we’ll have a blender and ice available. Dress in your “Parrothead” attire. Meet other “Parrotheads”! This is designed a fun, active Sunset Cruise. Cost is $35 per person. No One under 21 please.
Learn about Fish Cruise – August 14 at 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Fishes of the Lower Connecticut River Sunset Cruise Ever wonder what is happening under the surface of the Connecticut River? What fish are there and when? What is being done to protect the fish and their habitat? Every cruise we get questions about the fish that inhabit our part of the CT River. Here is our chance to get all those questions answered! Join us on RiverQuest for a very Special Sunset Cruise with Fisheries Biologist Steve Gephard, a biologist with the State of Connecticut, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s Inland Fisheries Division, in charge of the Division’s Diadromous (fish that migrate between fresh water and salt water) Fish Program and its Habitat Conservation Program. He has over 35 years of experience! This will be a relaxing, informational cruise. Bring a picnic, favorite beverage and any “fishy” questions you may have! Cost is $35 per person. No One under 9 please.
Full Moon Evening Cruise: August 15 & 16 at 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
This will be a relaxing cruise to nowhere, timed so that, weather permitting (we will still go out if there are clouds), we will see the full moon rise. Observe how beautiful the river is at twilight; see local wildlife and various points of interest including many beautiful homes. Bring your picnic basket and favorite beverage. Cost is $35 per person. No children under 12.
Dessert Cruise – August 22 at 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Take a relaxing evening cruise on the lower Connecticut River, departure from Eagle Landing State Park in Haddam. Bring your picnic basket and favorite beverage, family and friends. Observe how beautiful the river is at twilight as you dine. At around 7:30 p.m., a variety of desserts will be served, including Captain Mark’s famous KEY LIME PIE! There will be only light narration on this cruise. $40pp
