On Saturday, April 2, 2022, the Haddam Killingworth High School Girls Softball team defeated Ellington 4-3 in eight innings.

Kaleigh Bodak pitched 7 scoreless innings, yielding only 3 hits while striking out 13 batters. Kaleigh also hit a triple and double, driving in 1 run and scoring 1 run. Ivy McNiel had an RBI double in the first inning for HK.
The winning run in the bottom of the 8th inning came from a lead-off double by Cheyenne La Touche and then a line-drive single to centerfield from Keira Czarkowski. Brinkley Echels had a two triple for Ellington.
