Junior Abby French (Nashua, N.H./Academy of Notre Dame) finished in 32nd place at the NCAA East Regional Championship in Farmindale, N.Y. on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 clocking in at a time of 23:44.4 to lead the Saint Michael’s College women’s cross country team to an 18th-place finish out of 29 schools. The women scored 475 points in the 6K, while the men’s team finished in 21st out of 28 schools, finishing with 556 points in the 10K.
On the women’s side, junior Emma Koukos (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) finished in 105th place with a time of 25:50.5, while sophomore Molly Nemes (Plymouth, Mass./Sturgis Charter Public School) grabbed a 113th-place finish, crossing the finish line at 26:09.8. Senior Kara Hettinger (Lindenhurst, Ill./Saint Joseph Catholic Academy) raced in at 26:16.3, good for 117th, while first-year Hannah Muse (Yarmouth, Mass./Nauset Regional) finished right behind her in 119th, clocking in at 26:21.7 to set her new personal record. First-year Eleanor Devereux (Jericho, Vt./Mount Mansfield Union) came in at 26:51.9 to finish in 128th, while classmate Rachel Smith (Old Forge, N.Y./Town of Webb) finished in 132nd with a time of 26:58.6.
Junior Kevin Jeter (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) paced the men’s team, coming in 92nd place with a time of 36.19.7. First-year Jake Donnelly (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) set a PR of 37.25.3 to finish 117th, while senior Nathan Terry (Reading, Mass./Tilton School) landed a 122nd-place finish, setting a PR of 37:46.4. First-year James Downs (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) grabbed 130th place and also set a PR of 38:10.8, while senior David Baird (Higganum, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) came in right behind him in 131st with a time of 38:20.5. First-years John Cunningham (Springfield, N.H./Kearsarge Regional) and Matt Gianni (Stowe, Vt./Stowe) each set PRs with the former finishing in 147th with a time of 39:04.8 and the latter coming in 156th at 39:44.4.
