Silent Vigil to be Held on Veterans Day in Higganum

Submitted by Arthur Wiknik, Jr.

(October 22, 2022) — On the morning of November 11, 2022, Veterans Day, there will be a silent vigil at the war monument on the green in Higganum Center beginning at around 10:45 a.m. and lasting until about 11:15 a.m.  The time of day that we stand at the monument coincides with the 11:00 a.m. signing of the Armistice that ended World War I.  A few local veterans and members of the Haddam Veterans Museum will be in uniform to stand quietly around the monument.  This is not a ceremony and there will be no speeches.  We have been doing this for about ten years to visibly bring awareness to the day.  The museum also will be open.  Thank you.
