Submitted by Karen Milano

(August 16, 2023) — The following events and programs will take place at Parmelee Farm in Killingworth during the month of September 2023:

Summer Concerts/Car Cruises: The fourth and final Car Cruise and Free Sunday Concert of the season will be held at Parmelee Farm on September 10, 2023. The Car Cruise runs from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and the concert is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The concert will feature the band “Empire of Light,” which played at the Farm two years ago. We want to thank all the bands and sponsors who made the free concerts possible this season and look forward to many more next year.

Artisan Market: It’s here! Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., rain or shine!  The Market features something for absolutely everyone, shuttles available, free parking, free admission and come hungry! Dogs are welcome if on a leash and well-behaved. Grab a ticket or three on your way in for a chance to win one of two gorgeous chock-full artisanware-filled baskets.

Historical Society:  The Parmelee Farmhouse and new barn will be open during the Artisan Market (mentioned above) on September 9, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and also on September 10, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Society welcomes visitors to stop by to see our artifacts and learn about Killingworth history. Books published by Municipal Historian Thomas Lentz are available for purchase. Don’t forget to buy raffle tickets for the gorgeous Christmas quilt. You might be the lucky winner!

Lost & Found:  A small wire basket is installed at the Kiosk for any small items found on the farm property and trails. Items of high value such as jewelry or car keys should be brought to Killingworth Town Hall for safe keeping until the owner reclaims them.

Dogs at the Farm: Must be on leash at all times for the safety of all, and please pick up after your dog. Dog waste stations available in several locations.

Volunteers:  Many hands make light work and volunteers of all ages, skill levels and time availability are welcome. Call or e-mail Tim Gannon at: tim@gannonphoto.com or (860) 395-9887, to find out how you can participate and/or contribute.
