Rep. Haines Reading to Ms. Mazzotta’s Class

EAST HAMPTON – State Representative Irene Haines (R-34) celebrated Read Across America Day on Monday, March 2, 2020 by reading “Sometimes you Fly” by Katherine Applegate and “The Invisible Boy” by Trudy Ludwig to Ms. Mazzotta’s fourth grade class at East Hampton Center Elementary School. Read Across America Day is an annual tradition promoting early childhood literacy and celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

“It was a joy reading to Ms. Mazzotta’s bright and engaged students,” said Rep. Haines. “Read Across America Day is a wonderful celebration of reading and helps inspire a lifelong love for learning and literacy.”

According to its website, The National Education Association seeks to build a nation of readers through its signature program, NEA’s Read Across America. For more information about this great event, please visit www.nea.org/readacross.
