According to Legacy.com and Biega Funeral Home, William D. Norrie, 91, of Haddam, formerly of Old Saybrook, husband of the late Shirley (Masthay) Norrie, passed away on Tuesday September 5, 2023 at Middlesex Hospital. He was born in Meriden, son of the late Stanley “Ted” and Mae (Ferrier) Norrie.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Bill served with the United States Marine Corps. He was a Connecticut State Trooper for many years and later became a realtor and co-owner of Norrie and Hurst Realty in Meriden.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Nancy Murphy and her husband Robert of Old Saybrook, his beloved granddaughter Colleen Murphy of West Hartford; brother Robert Norrie of Wallingford; sister Lois Cerasale of Meriden; and half-sisters, Susan Norrie of Florence, Massachusetts; and Carol Keough of Meriden. He was predeceased by his brothers, Allan and George Norrie.
Funeral services are private and burial with military honors held at the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown.
