(July 3, 2022) — Robert “Bob” D. Glazier, 78, of Killingworth, beloved husband of Carolyn “Callie” (Mekrut) Glazier, passed away on Sunday June 26th, 2022 at Chestelm Health and Rehab. Although born in Bridgeport, son of the late Albert P. Glazier, Jr. and Virginia (White) Glazier, Bob was raised in Norwich. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University with his Bachelor’s Degree and then entered the United States Air Force. He became an officer while serving during the Vietnam War. Bob then started his career at Town & Country Nurseries in Haddam. He loved being able to work alongside his family and seeing all of his customers and friends.
Besides his wife Callie, Bob is survived by his son Mark (Jeanette) Glazier of Haddam; daughter Lauren (Gary) Livingston of Deep River; brothers, Albert Glazier III (Dorrie) of North Granby, Terry (Teresa) Glazier of East Haddam, David (Linda) Glazier of East Haddam and Michael (Debbie) Glazier of Amston; grandchildren Matthew, Tyson and Owen; many brothers- and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Thank you to the Middlesex Hospice, which so lovingly helped us through this difficult time. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the caring staff at Chestelm who filled the final days of his journey with comfort and love. A very special thank-you to his sister-in-law Linda, a nurse at Chestelm, whose tireless love and compassion will always be treasured by his family.
His funeral liturgy will be held on Friday July 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St Peter’s Church, Higganum, followed by a reception to celebrate and remember Bob’s life. Calling hours will be on Thursday, July 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown. Burial will be at Burr District Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
