November 2023 Events at Killingworth Library

(October 24, 2023) — The following programs and events will take place during the month of November 2023 at the Killingworth Library, 301 Route 81, Killingworth. Register in advance by visiting the Calendar on the library’s website –  killingworthlibrary.org – or by calling 860-663-2000.

Letter Writing Social – Friday, November 3, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Reclaim the art of the handwritten letter! Experiment with different pens, try your hand at typing, compose your thoughts, connect with a family member or pen pal (maybe an author?), practice your penmanship… and have fun! Various writing implements, stationery, postcards, and stamps will be available. No registration necessary. Just drop in.

Watercolor Botanicals with Florence Griswold Museum – Friday, November 10, 2023 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Come flex your creative muscles with a night of watercolor painting, led by an artist from the Florence Griswold Museum. Participants will create their own still-life paintings inspired by botanicals provided by the museum. Registration is free, and all materials will be provided. This program is recommended for adults, but teens are welcome to join. Space is limited, so please register on the library website to guarantee your spot.

Great Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge 2 – Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1:00 p m  to 4:00 p m. Gather a team and head to Killingworth Library for our second jigsaw puzzle tournament! Each team table will receive the same 500 piece puzzle – see how far you can get in assembling it, in the allotted amount of time. Event includes light refreshments, prizes, and a raffle. $20.00 (prepaid, please) reserves a table for 1, 2, 3, or 4 puzzlers (maximum of four at a table) – after registering, please make checks out to KWO and drop them off at the library. A table of 4 may bring a military veteran free of charge Space is limited, so sign up soon. Sponsored by the Killingworth Women’s Organization. The Day the Crayons Quit Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 10:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Preschoolers and their families are invited to this fun and engaging theater performance of The Day the Crayons Quit. Presented by the Grove School’s Children’s Theater Troupe, this short play – running about 10-15 minutes, will be held in the children’s room. Come enjoy some wonderful young actors and visit with friends. Space is limited, so please register in advance.

Pajama Storytime – Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. Come dressed to cuddle and bring your favorite stuffed animal. Mrs. Fig will share her favorite seasonal stories. Family members of all ages are welcome Please register in advance, so we know how many friends to expect.
