On Wednesday October 5, 2022, a Senior Flu Clinic was held at the former Haddam Elementary School in Higganum from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It was a very successful event coordinated by Haddam’s Social Services Coordinator & Municipal Agent, Jessica Condil.  Several dozen seniors were in attendance to get their flu shots from Nutmeg Pharmacy.  There were also a couple of organizations that set up tables to help Seniors with issues such as Medicare open enrollment, and probate.  A soup and sandwich lunch was served.  The latter was coordinated by Haddam’s Senior Center Manager, Colleen Totman.
If you missed the event and need a flu shot or the new COVID booster, you can go to either our Health District (CRAHD) facility in Old Saybrook, or contact them at 860-661-3300, or visit Nutmeg Phamacy’s website www.NutmegPharmacy.com to make an appointment. It’s easy, no crowds or long lines! I got my Covid shot in Moodus last week!
As you can see in the photo above, First Selectman Bob McGarry was there and had a lunch date with his wife after they got their flu shots. Â
Also you can see Greg McKenna of Nutmeg Pharmacy (above) talking with former First Selectwoman Marge DeBold, who is a very active part of the Committee on Aging and Club 60.  It is nice to see former Selectmen still active in town issues; e.g., I’ve seen Mark Lundgren at events; he was a First Selectman in the 1980s.
