I’m writing to support Christine Palm for State Representative for the 36th district. In the past four years, Christine has worked around the clock to serve the people of Haddam, Deep River, Chester and Essex. This past year, working in concert with Norm Needleman, she was able to secure $750,000 to invest in the center of Haddam. These funds will not only help improve Higganum Cove and create much-needed multi-generational recreation facilities at HES, but also bolster pride of place for existing town residents and help attract new ones. Christine recognized the need in Haddam and worked to advocate on our behalf at the state level.
As a woman, I am tremendously grateful for her unwavering support of women’s rights. As a mother, I am grateful that she is working to increase access to childcare. Lastly, as someone who is passionate about the environment, I am thrilled about her recent bill to mandate the teaching of climate change in our schools, as well as her actions to address invasive aquatic species. Our children and our communities will be better positioned to tackle these very real challenges in the future because of the work of Christine Palm.
Christine is by far the most accessible and easily the hardest-working representative I have ever met. Her deep commitment to Haddam is more evident than ever. She works across the aisle, is a tireless advocate, and is a strong and effective voice for the 36th. Christine has more than proven herself and she has my vote on Tuesday, November 8th.
Gina Block, Higganum
