I am writing in support of Cindy Lignar, who is the Democratic candidate for First Selectman in Chester. The residents of Chester are very fortunate to have such an outstanding candidate for this vital leadership position.
Cindy Lignar has demonstrated an enduring commitment to her local community over many years. She is a candidate for First Selectman, not for partisan reasons, but because she has served Chester in extraordinary ways as a volunteer, and knows it well. I will leave it to others to tout her accomplishments in the town she loves. I speak out today as someone who respects her for the person she is, and for the values she reflects in her life.
I had the opportunity to meet Cindy Lignar several years ago when we were active members in The Valley Stands Up, a local organization in the tri-town area committed to protecting human rights and promoting harmony in our towns.
She later served as a founding member of Democracy Women In Action. Cindy has consistently demonstrated the values of a strong leader. She has the ability to build consensus, to problem-solve in the face of adversity, and to resolve issues in the best interest of her community. She has boundless energy and a genuine concern for others. I urge voters to vote for proven leadership and to elect Cindy Lignar First Selectman of Chester.
