To the editor:
While I live on the East Haddam (benighted ?) side of the river, it was nevertheless a pleasure, a privilege and an honor to have known Melissa (Missy) Schlag. As you can see, she never discriminated against anyone, despite the fact that I did not have the good fortune of being born on the Haddam (Right ?) side of the river.
Missy Schlag was principled, idealistic and an energetic supporter of the environment, of equal rights for all and of good and transparent government.
Her life has set an example for us all. In honor of her memory, it is our obligation to have the same idealism, courage and determination that characterized her life. She set the example. Let us all have the wisdom and strength to follow her example.
