In a recent series of letters regarding those wishing to serve on the Region 17 board of education, the Haddam-Killingworth News has openly presented letters of people who certainly differ in opinion, sometimes quite strongly. This willingness to do so has allowed its readers to consider the matter from many viewpoints and to form their own opinions. It has done all of us a great service at a time when “Cancel Culture” is gaining ground in which a diversity of ideas is no longer being tolerated.
I am sincerely grateful that the H-K News has not followed this unfortunate trend and I just wanted to take this opportunity to say “Thank you” for a job well done!
