At 12:40 p.m. on July 26, 2022, Killingworth Volunteer Fire Company responded to a brush fire on Parker Hill Road Extension. Crews accessed the 8-acre brush fire, which was rapidly spreading across a hay field, from two locations and quickly worked to extinguish the fire. The scene was cleared at 1:45 p.m.
Crews from Haddam Volunteer Fire Company, Chester Hose Company, and Clinton Volunteer Fire Department provided mutual aid at the scene. The cause of the fire is unknown.
