Killingworth Student Earns Honors at Eastern Connecticut State University

(June 8, 2023) — More than 300 Eastern Connecticut State University students were recognized for scholarly excellence at the conclusion of the spring 2023 semester. Given by academic departments across the University, the recognitions included induction into more than a dozen academic honor societies, scholarship awards and departmental distinctions.

Among those honored was Matthew Coleman of Killingworth, a Senior who majors in Communication. Coleman was inducted into the Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honor Society at the Department of Communication’s Celebration of Excellence on April 26, 2023 at the Fine Arts Instructional Center Concert Hall.

Eastern Connecticut State University is the state of Connecticut’s public liberal arts university, serving upwards of 4,100 students annually on its Willimantic campus. In addition to attracting students from 160 of Connecticut’s 169 towns, Eastern also draws students from 32 states and eight countries. A residential campus offering 41 majors and 68 minors, Eastern offers students a strong liberal arts foundation grounded in a variety of applied learning opportunities.
