Submitted by Cheryl Czuba

(March 21, 2023) — Show your love for Mother Earth! Join us on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at the beautiful Haddam Meadows State Park for an invasive plant clean-up and trash pick-up. (The rain date is April 29th). A second clean-up will be held on May 13, 2023, with a rain date of May 20th.  On both days, we’ll focus on  removing invasives at the first picnic area, around the flowering trees marked with blue ribbons, and at the fish pond. Also, we’ll also pick up trash.

Adults and youths under 16 years of age accompanied by an adult, are asked to meet in the first picnic area (closest to the front parking lot). Please dress for the weather. Wear waterproof boots, bring garden loppers or saw, insect repellent, sunscreen, water and first aid supplies. Refreshments will be served. Do not bring pets.

Volunteers with dump trucks with Haddam stickers are needed.  The event is being planned by CT DEEP Adopt-a-Park Volunteers, Jamie Burgess, Deborah Cooney, Cherry Czuba, Joanne DelCioppo-McHugh, Richard Gill, Mary Lou Heger and David Stiles. Please register by emailing Cherry Czuba at cherylczuba@comcast.net
