More than 125 local children attended the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company’s annual Children’s Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019. The fire company has been holding this event for more than 50 years. Volunteers worked more than 12 hours preparing for the party, according to Olivia Drake, the HVFC Public Information Officer.
Santa rode in on a fire truck, and Chief Sam Baber welcomed him to the Fire Department. Santa greeted all of the families, and then the children had a chance to sit on Santa’s lap, and get a photo taken. All children who attended received a gift from Santa, and cookies and refreshments.
Family members had a chance to participate in the basket raffle put on by the HVFC Auxiliary, which raised more than $200 to offset the costs of the party.
