HVFC Responds to Vehicle Accident Involving a U.S. Postal Truck

(September 23, 2023)—Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded to a motor vehicle accident on September 21, 2023 on Saybrook Road near the Haddam/Higganum town line. A vehicle heading north on Saybrook Road struck a mail truck, crossed the center line, and stopped in a wooded area. The vehicle’s operator self-extricated and was transported to Middlesex Hospital via Haddam Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc. The driver of the mail truck was evaluated on scene and refused additional medical treatment.

Crews closed one section of lane during the incident. This was the sixth motor vehicle accident this month.
