Haddam Volunteer Fire Company and Middletown South District responded to a motor vehicle accident at 4:35 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 on Route 9 near the Exit 9 off ramp.
A driver lost control of his vehicle, struck a wire guard rail, went off the road, and stopped on the shoulder. The driver was evaluated on scene by EMS personnel from Haddam Ambulance Service. He refused additional medical treatment. Firefighters blocked one lane of traffic during the incident for about 45 minutes and swept debris off the road.
The incident is under investigation by the Connecticut State Police.
