(October 17, 2023—Haddam Volunteer Fire Company and Chester Hose Company Inc. responded to a single-car motor vehicle accident at 11:25 a.m. today on Route 9 South between exits 13 and 10. The vehicle’s operator veered off the road and struck a guardrail.
Firefighters closed one lane of traffic during the incident while they used absorbent material to clean a fuel spill on the road.
The driver was evaluated on scene and refused additional medical treatment.
This was the fourth motor vehicle accident Haddam firefighters responded to in October.
