(October 21, 2021) Two patients were sent to area hospitals following a motor vehicle accident on Killingworth Road.
Haddam Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the scene at 12:50 p.m. on Oct. 21. Upon arrival, crews encountered two, heavily damaged vehicles on the road. The occupants were pinned inside the vehicles as a result of the collision.
Due to the severity of the damage, it took firefighters and EMS personnel approximately 45-minutes to disentangle and extricate one of the occupants from the vehicle using various hydraulic tools including the Hurst “Jaws of Life.”
The patients were transported via ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
This was the third MVA Haddam Fire responded to since Oct. 17.
