(May 16, 2023) — At 4:15 p.m. on May 15, 2023, Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded as mutual aid to Chester for a second alarm structure fire on Main Street. A crew from Haddam Engine 1-13 was assigned to Chester Hose Company’s headquarters to provide station coverage. Crews from Chester, Deep River, and Essex worked to extinguish the fire on scene, while Old Saybrook provided a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT).
