(December 8, 2023) — Santa’s bringing the holiday spirit to Haddam on December 16, 2023, with a visit to the firehouse!
Haddam Volunteer Fire Company and the HVFC Auxiliary welcome all residents of Higganum and Haddam to our annual Children’s Christmas Party.
All children 10 and under will receive a gift from Santa. Cookies and refreshments will be provided.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and Santa arrives on a fire engine at 6:00 p.m. and will greet all families. To help offset the cost of gifts, the Auxiliary will hold a basket raffle.
The Children’s Christmas Party may be the most long-standing tradition in the fire company’s history. For more than 90 years, volunteers have worked to host the gathering, which began at the town green in the 1930s. According to Company Historian and Firefighter Teresa Kuchyt, life members recall giving children apples as presents.
Santa hopes to see you there! HVFC Station One is located at 439 Saybrook Road in Higganum.
