(October 5, 2023) — The Saturday October 7, 2023 Haddam Land Trust Mushroom Program and Walk has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Beaver Ledges Preserve because of inclement weather.
Haddam resident Bill Yule, (Bolete Bill), teacher, environmental educator, and naturalist will be our mushroom guide through the pathways, wetlands and forest of the Beaver Ledges Preserve. Our hot and humid summer promotes fungal growth so we should see lots of mushrooms!
Directions: Traveling south on Saybrook Road just past the route 82 highway ramp take a right onto Dudley Clark Road, then a right onto Old Chester Road. Follow Old Chester Road to the overpass about 1.5 miles. Park beyond the overpass before the one lane gravel road. We will meet just beyond the overpass. The preserve entrance is 1/4 of a mile from the parking area.
