HKTV Holiday Show Raises More Than $15,000 for “Kindness Over Muscular Dystrophy”

(January 18, 2024) — Haddam Killingworth High School Television held its 35th Annual Holiday Telethon on December 22, 2023. This year’s show raised more than $15,000 for Kindness Over Muscular Dystrophy.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is an incurable form of muscular dystrophy characterized by a rapid deterioration of muscles. As of now, there is no known cure. All money raised from the show will support their mission to help fund research, provide benevolent assistance to others in need, and hopefully to find a cure.

The student-produced, live telethon included musical performances from all RSD17 schools, community interviews, and student-created video content to inform and engage the RSD17 community.

HKTV students built the entire show from scratch. Students researched, planned, produced, operated broadcasting equipment, and executed the telethon professionally. If you missed the live show, you can watch the recorded telethon at https://reflect-hktv.cablecast.tv/CablecastPublicSite/show/1723?site=1.

HKTV would like to thank the Haddam-Killingworth Community for your viewership and support!
