Boys Tennis 2024: HKHS Defeats Morgan/Qualifies for Class S State Tournament

(May 23, 2024) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Tennis team ended the regular season with a 5-2 win over visiting Morgan School.

In what was senior Captain Eddie White’s last match on the Cougars home courts, he led the team’s effort by winning his match in straight sets and setting the stage for the team’s participation in Class S state tournament play, which starts May 24, 2024.

The team match having been decided while #4 singles was still on the courts, Cougars Junior Chase Smalley highlighted the team’s competitiveness by winning the deciding split set match tie break 10-4 and completing the sweep in singles play. H-K won one of the matches in doubles with Larson McLaughlin and Joe Lucero winning at the #3 position.
