(June 1, 2023) — The Haddam Killingworth High School Cougars defeated East Hampton 12-0 in five innings on May 31, 2023, in a second round matchup at the CIAC Class M state championship.
HK was paced by Annabelle Zajac’s three-hit, four-run performance. AB had two singles and a triple, while teammate Cheyenne LaTouche recorded three hits as well, including a two-run homer that resulted in the mercy victory.
Kaleigh Bodak picked up her seventeenth win of the year with the five-inning shutout. She also collected two hits that brought home four teammates. HK next faces Mercy High School on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. in Middletown in a Class M quarterfinal game.
