Baseball 2023: HKHS Edges Immaculate in Class S Second Round

(June 1, 2023) — Liam Gordon scattered five hits, striking out fifteen to get Haddam Killingworth High School a second round win, 4-3 over Immaculate High School, in the Class S state baseball tournament on May 31, 2023.

Callen Powers led the HK offense with two hits and drove in two runs, while Blake Kamoen and Luke Mauri also had two hits for the Cougars. Mauri scored the winning run in the eighth inning after he doubled with one out, moved to third on Kamoen’s single, then scored on a fielder’s choice. Joe Clarfone and Robert Anton each had two hits for Immaculate.
