Pool Memberships
Pool Memberships are valid from July 2019 – June 2020. Family pass is $100 ($110 for non-residents). Individual Passes are $50 or $55 for non-residents.
SWIM LESSONS FOR CHILDREN
The Haddam-Killingworth Recreation Department has openings in children’s swim lessons. Each session has a limited number of spots available for all levels of swimmers. Classes are conducted at the HK High School Pool and are for kids ages 4 and up (must be able to participate in a group instructional setting). Levels offered are Pre-Beginner, Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, and Swimmer. Daytime lessons meet Monday through Friday. Dates and times are:
Session 1: 6/17 – 6/21 A) 9:50 – 10:30 am C) 10:40 – 11:20 am

Sessions 1, 2, 4 – 8 are $47 / $38 each with new pool membership and $57 for non-residents. 2nd child discount is $5. Session 3 is $28 / $23 each with a new pool membership, $38 for non-residents. 2nd child discount is $5.
Evening lessons are on Monday and Wednesdays from 6:00 – 6:40 p.m. and 6:50 – 7:30 p.m., Session 9. The fee is $75/ $60 with new pool membership, and $85 for non-residents. 2nd child discount is $5.
PRE-SCHOOL SWIM CLASSES
There will be lessons for 3 year olds held the weeks of June 24 – 28, July 8 – 12 or July 22 – 26 from 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. The fee is $47/ $38 with new pool membership (non-residents add $10). There will be an evening session on Monday & Wednesdays July 22 – August 7. The fee is $52 / $40 with new pool membership (non-residents add $10). This class is a perfect opportunity for your toddler to start swim lessons. They must be able to partake in a group instructional setting without the parent.
PARENT / TOT SWIM CLASSES
The Haddam-Killingworth Recreation Department is offering Parent & Tot swim classes for toddlers 9 months to 36 months (with Parent) on Thursdays, 12:30 – 1:00 p.m., June 20 – August 1 (no 7/4) or on Mondays & Wednesdays from 6:30 – 7:00 p.m., July 22 – August 7 at the HK High School Pool. The fee is $52 or $40 with new pool membership for residents and $62 for non-residents. The parent and tot class is an excellent opportunity for parents to acquaint their children with the water and begin development of swimming techniques. A parent or guardian must accompany the child in the water at all times.
SUMMER SWIM TEAM
The Haddam-Killingworth Recreation Department and the Cougar Aquatic Swim Team is offering a summer swim team for boys and girls ages 6 – 17 from June 17 – July 11 ( No 7/4). The program meets Monday – Thursdays at the HK High School Pool from 3:30 – 4:45 p.m. The fee is $115 (non-resident add $10). Children must be able to swim one lap of front crawl and back stroke to qualify. Teams will compete against other teams in the area.
LIFEGUARD TRAINING (Limited Spots)
The Haddam-Killingworth Recreation Department will be offering a Lifeguard Training Course that will be held June 10 (pre-course) June 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 July 2, 3, at the HK High School pool & the HK Rec office from 1:15 – 3:30 p.m. After successful completion of this course, students will be certified in Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Standard First Aid. The class is for participants ages 15 and up. Students must be able to swim 300 yards continuously of crawl, sidestroke & breaststroke.
The fee is $215 for residents and $225 for non-residents. Fee includes books, pocket mask, and Certifications.
MASTERS SWIMMING FOR ADULTS
The Haddam-Killingworth Recreation Department is offering Masters Swimming for Adults this Summer. This program will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays May – June from 6:00 – 7:15 a.m. at the HKHS Pool. The fee is $75 each 2 month session. HK Masters provides individualized workouts and instruction to meet each person’s fitness goals. Open to adult swimmers of all levels (fitness, triathlete, competitive, non-competitive) who are dedicated to improving their fitness through swimming.
