(May 18, 2023) —The Haddam Killingworth High School Girls Tennis team rounded out their regular season on May 17, 2023 with a competitive match on the courts at North Branford.
HK struggled at singles, losing all four matches, but really shined in doubles as all three teams came up with a victory. At first doubles, seniors Brenna Lonergan and Maggie Singer prevailed over C. D’Amico and J. Rivera, ^-2 6-2.
First year players Addy Harkin and Catherine Nguyen ousted T. Miller and K. Sinski, 6-1 7-5 and Senior Sophia Schoen-Newsome and Freshman Avery Maxwell overcame D. Rivera and A. Moeller, 6-2 6-0.
All three doubles teams and Senior, number one singles, Monique Volpicelli will compete in the Shoreline Conference Tournament at Westbrook and Morgan High Schools on Monday, May 22, 2023. The HK girls enjoyed a season of rebuilding and plan to expand to a winning record next season.
