On Dec. 9, 2019, there was a groundbreaking ceremony held at Haddam’s Brainerd Memorial Library. “The construction will entail the creation of an additional 17 space parking lot with two disabled-accessible spots, a new lower level entry plaza and public entrance, refurbishment and repositioning of the public rest rooms, a lower level lobby, new exterior lights, relocation of the shed, relocation of power lines under ground and the removal of the utility pole,” said Tom Piezzo, Library Director.
“I’m excited the library renovations are moving forward,” said Haddam First Selectman, Bob McGarry. “Brainerd Library is an important part of our community. These renovations/improvements will allow them to offer even more services to us. I look forward to their completion.”
Work started yesterday and is scheduled to be complete by the end of June 2020.
