There are two Democratic Candidates on the ballot, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, and the three Republican candidates are Donald Trump, Rocky De La Fuente and Bill Weld.
May 11, 2020 was the last day to switch from one party to another to vote in the Democratic Presidential Preference Primary and the Republican Presidential Preference Primary. However, this does not apply when switching from unaffiliated to party membership. If you are unaffiliated and want to vote in the Democratic or Republican Presidential Preference Primary you can switch up to 12:00 Noon on the last business day before the primary, which is Monday, August 10, 2020.
Mail-in voter registration application must be received by the Registrar of Voters and postmarked by August 6, 2020. In-person voter registration by a new or unaffiliated voter (changing to vote for a party) must be in to the Registrar of Voters or Town Clerk by 12:00 noon August 10, 2020.
Note: There will be a special “Presidential Preference Primary” registration session on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Haddam Registrar of Voters Office.
To register to vote: The Registrars’ Office is currently closed (COVID-19), but email registrar@haddam.org, leave a phone message, or register at Haddam Town Hall, Town Clerk’s Office (see hours below). You may also request the Registrar of Voters or Town Clerk send you a mail-in voter registration form, or visit our website haddam.org/registrar.
Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The 3 polling places are:
