(May 4, 2021) — Having remained shut down for the year 2020 by the pandemic, The Haddam Neck Fair will be held this year over Labor Day Weekend, opening Friday September 3, 2021.
Haddam Neck prides itself on being rated as a Major Fair. As a genuine country and agricultural fair it has many events some very similar to those of a hundred years ago.
There will be traditional events such as cattle and beef shows, goat and sheep contests and poultry and rabbit classes. Pulling contests for ponies, horses and oxen will be held as well as for tractors, trucks, and even a pedal pull for the kids.
Other events include photo and baking contests, a quilt contest, spinning and weaving, arts and hobbies, a dog agility competition, a baby show and a general store for purchasing items produced entirely in Haddam Neck by Haddam Neckers.
Contests offered all three days will include skillet throwing, red neck strongman and beard contests and a variety of events for children. Live music will play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Bandstand and a 5K road race will run on Sunday morning. In addition, of course, there are rides, concessions, traditional fair food and walk around entertainment.
The Fair will abide by any Covid 19 regulations in effect at the time. Additional information is available at haddamneckfair.com.
