On Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Haddam Fire Station #1, 439 Saybrook Road, Higganum native Lindamae Peck will speak about her continued research into the D. & H. Scovil Hoe Company records, this time focusing on the period of the mid-1850s through the Civil War. The company’s largest clients for their self-sharpening planter’s hoe were southern cotton plantations and the Civil War presented an array of issues for the firm. How did the firm adapt?  Join us to hear more. Free admission and light refreshments. For additional information visit www.haddamhistory.org.
