Submitted by Alison Karam, Coach.

(November 25, 2019) — Haddam-Killingworth High School Girls Swim Team competed in Division S State Championships last week, where seven swimmers had lifetime fastest swims and Nina Lamb (JR) broke a school record that had been standing since 1995!

Nina Lamb’s new H-K school record of 1:11.11 in the 100-yard breaststroke during the State Championship Qualifying meet, placed her in the top heat of the Championship Finals, where she finished 7th overall. Lamb also qualified for Championship Finals in the 50-yard freestyle (26.21). Two freshmen also qualified for States in individual events: Erin Marica swam personal best times in the 200-yard freestyle (2:15.07) in the Prelims and 5:58.57 in the 500-yard freestyle to make Finals; Kristen Thebeau swam her lifetime best of 1:11.36 in the 100-yard backstroke, leapfrogging over several higher ranked swimmers in her Prelim swim to make Finals.

All three H-K relays beat their seed entry times, and every swimmer had at least one lifetime fastest swim, for strong State Championship finishes:
