On Thursday, October 14, 2021, the Haddam Killingworth High School Cougars took their game on the road, playing Valley Regional High School to a 1-1 tie.
As the last few games of the regular season are upon both teams, both teams were looking for a win to help position them for a run in the Shoreline Tournament and State Tournament.
A hard fought battle by both teams led to a scoreless first half.
In the second half, Valley struck 14:20 mark when Sophia Surber scored. But eight minutes later Leah Chester had a breakaway and scored for HK. The game would end in a 1-1 tie. Liz Allen made six saves in goal for Valley, while Sophia Torello made five saves.
The Cougars record is now 6-4-2 with three games left, two against conference opponents. Valley’s record is now 4-4-2.
