With a decisive win on Monday, January 20, 2020 against Old Saybrook, 55-20, the Haddam Killingworth High School Girls Basketball team is now 4-6 for the 2019-2020 season. Against Old Saybrook, Anna Biondi (15 pts) and Belle Carini (18 pts) combined for 33 of the 55 HK points, leading all scorers. The Cougars are now halfway through their regular season play.
Senior Captains Anna Biondi (10.9 ppg, 2.3 apg) and Belle Carini (7.8 ppg, 2.0 apg) led HK in statistics with concerted contributions from freshmen post players Kaleigh Bodak (6.8 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 2.1 bpg) and Payton Yazmer (4.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg). Major minutes from juniors Tessa Wills and Ella McGlynn, sophomores Leah Sosnowski and Carly Rettberg, as well as freshmen Audra Yazmer and Julia Favalora round out the Cougar offensive. The team looks to finish the rest of their Shoreline Conference play strong with continued aspirations for postseason play.

HK Girls Basketball will play at HKHS this Friday, January 24, 2020 against North Branford at 7:00 p.m. Senior Night and HKGBB Youth Night will be Thursday, February 6, 2020 against Valley at 7:00 p.m.
