Haddam Killingworth High School Girls Basketball is now 6-11 on the season after back-to-back wins against East Granby on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 (59-52), and against Valley Regional on Thursday, February 6, 2020 (48-41). The team dropped a tough game to Coginchaug on Monday, February 10, 2020 (26-60).
Senior captains, Anna Biondi (9.2 ppg, 2.2 apg, 2.3 spg) and Belle Carini (9.5 ppg, 2.7 apg), continue to lead the Cougar offensive. Freshman forward, Kaleigh Bodak (7.6 ppg, 7.3 rpg), has recorded three, double-double evenings this season, with her most recent double-double against Valley Regional where she scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Bodak has 120 rebounds for the season. Major contributing minutes for the Cougars come from juniors Tessa Wills and Ella McGlynn, sophomores Leah Sosnowski and Carly Rettberg, and freshmen Payton Yazmer and Julia Favalora.
HK Girls Basketball is currently ranked 25th in the CIAC Class M, with postseason play on the horizon.
HK will finish out this week on the road against Old Lyme (2/11) and North Branford (2/13). HK Girls Basketball’s last home game is against Cromwell on February 17, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.
