On Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, the Haddam Killingworth High School Cougars defeated the Sport & Medical Sciences Magnet football team, with a final score of H-K 35, SMSA 8.
Dalton Brown scored on touchdown runs of 20, 1, and 39 yards, and added one interception on defense to lead the Cougars (1-0) over the Tigers (0-1) in Hartford. SMSA scored one touchdown — a 13-yard pass from Devin Hill to Naseim Harrison in the first quarter — but was held scoreless by HK for the rest of the game, as the Cougar defense forced six turnovers, including four interceptions.
