(December 9, 2022) —These poor babies (Thelma, above), (Shaggy, below)
and their mom had a bad start. They were all dumped like garbage. Sophie (the mom) and her five babies were in awful shape before Sunshine Rescue and a wonderful foster person got them back to health.  They were all severely underweight and malnourished, and absolutely covered with fleas. The babies had bald patches from the fleas, and Sophie the mom had almost no fur left, due to flea allergy dermatitis and poor nutrition. She wasn’t even producing much milk.
Now they have all been doing great, up to date with shots, fur growing back, and gaining weight. They are adorable and very sweet. The babies are about four months old now and ready to go to their forever homes, where they can be treated the way all animals should be treated, like kings or queens. The mother is being treated for heartworm, working to get her health back, and she will be ready for adoption. One little one has already been adopted.
