Submitted by Haley Stafford, Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce
(August 31, 2022) — Chairwoman Kristen Roberts of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce has announced that the Chamber is once again partnering with the Community Renewal Team (CRT) on the Middlesex Youth Career Development Services Program (MYCDS).
MYCDS is designed to empower out-of-school youth ages 18-24 by providing them with on- the-job training, paid internships, or certificate programs at Middlesex Community College. Clients work with the program coordinator to set specific employment and/or education goals while in the program.
The program focuses on medical billing and coding, phlebotomy, pharmacy technician, personal training, security guard, PCT and certified nursing aide programs. This training, when completed, leads to recognized credentials that are aligned with in-demand industry sectors or occupations in the Greater Middlesex County area.
The Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce assists participants with employment readiness and information on potential employment opportunities in the region. There is a paid work experience component to this program for certified clients. Interested parties should contact Program Director Julia-Sapia Bryant at sapiaj@crtct.org.
