(Dec. 11, 2019) — A standing room only crowd attended Brainerd Memorial Library’s recent informal reception for local area officials and residents on Dec. 6, 2019.
The late day event, which included a lavish spread of finger foods brought by volunteers, gave officials an opportunity to speak briefly and chat with townspeople.
State Reps. Christine Palm and State Sen. Norm Needleman and Haddam First Selectman Bob McGarry were among those who spoke. They emphasized that their doors are always open and they welcome visits, phone calls or written communication from local residents.
They also said they appreciated the role the library is playing as a hub for community activities.
Library Director Tom Piezzo said the library looks forward to hosting future community events of all sorts and he welcomes suggestions from patrons. “Clearly, there’s a great deal of support from the public for these kinds of events and as the library continues to improve its physical facilities, we plan to play a key role,” Piezzo said.
