ADULT PROGRAMS

The Softer Side of Celtic with Jeff Snow

Wednesday, February 27, 2019, 6:30 p.m.

The Softer Side of Celtic combines the music, stories and a wee bit of history from Scotland, Ireland and England into a program that will keep you on the edge of your seat. There will be singing, laughing, clapping and perhaps a bit of foot stomping. We might see a few tears as we hear the story of John Hunt who came to America in 1855. John settled in Aberdeen Maryland, found a job, got married, had children and spent the rest of his life in Aberdeen. He never returned to Ireland and never saw his family again. When John came to America he was 13. Their only communication was the annual family letter that told John the family news.  The letters were discovered in the 1970’s and became the foundation for the Ballad of Kilkelly Ireland.

Jeff Snow is a talented multi-instrumentalist who plays the music and tells the stories behind the songs. He plays six and twelve string guitar, autoharp, Celtic Bouzouki and Bodhran

As a skilled guitar player, Jeff has been featured in Acoustic Guitar Magazine and is a contributing writer to Acoustic Guitar Magazine and Autoharp Quarterly.
