KWO Hosts First Annual Thrive and Shine Whole Health & Wellness Expo

By Laura Lefko

(October 6, 2022) — On Sunday, October 9, 2022, the Killingworth Women’s Organization will host its first annual Thrive and Shine Whole Health and Wellness Expo from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Parmelee Farm. The co-chairmen of the event are Janet Colandrea and Rachel Harrington Colandrea; I was able to sit down with them to discuss the KWO’s vision for the day.

The group wanted to shift from their traditional fundraiser to an event to bring public awareness to ways to empower women and to help them find ways to nurture themselves. While the focus is primarily on women, everyone is encouraged and welcome to attend and will be able to benefit from the options and skills shared at the event. Healthy options will be highlighted; yoga, Reiki, healthy eating, nature walks and more will be highlighted to help people to start making better choices for their lives and incorporate those choices into their daily lives.

Dr. Dorothy Martin-Neville, an international Transformational Leadership speaker will be the keynote speaker. She will be speaking at 1:30 pm in the pavilion.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information on Thrive and Shine Whole Health and Wellness Expo visit https://www.kwoct.org/event/thrive-and-shine/.
