Letter to the Editor: Guy Tuccero: A Vote for Authenticity (Jarvi)

My father always told me, “If you want to get something done, give it to a busy person,” and I’ve witnessed this axiom play out again and again. My mother raised me to believe that the people who care most about the future, and will work for it, are parents who deeply wish to create a better world for their kids. As a small business owner and father to three young children, Guy Tuccero embodies the principles of vision and effectiveness. He has a proven track record of getting things done.

I wholeheartedly agree with what others have written about Guy’s work ethic and practicality, and it’s obvious to those who have spoken with him that he is a man of integrity and diplomacy. If elected, Guy will stand by his word and collaborate respectfully with people who hold different viewpoints. In a political climate where images can be strategically constructed and marketed, Guy stands out in that he actually walks the walk, not just talks the talk.

Honestly, if Guy weren’t running as State Representative for our district, I might not have bothered voting for this position, thinking it would be more of the same campaign promises without any improvements in my day-to-day life. But this fall, I’m excited to vote for someone who is not a polished politician, but instead an authentic, kind-hearted person who cares deeply for the lower Connecticut River Valley and will do his best to represent its residents.
